How You Will Study
All your lessons and assessments are available on CloudPort, our Moodle-based learning environment (most colleges and universities in the UK use Moodle VLEs).
You can start with Lesson 1 and progress through the course in a linear manner or jump directly to the section you need. Our learning approach is entirely flexible, allowing you to tailor your study plan according to the skills you want to develop.
You can submit assessments as you work through the course and receive instant results and feedback on activities to track your progress. Use these assessments as launchpads for your learning, helping you to concentrate on the topics that require more attention.
You will have access to all course materials, assessments, and tutor support for 24 months from the date of enrollment. Extensions are available for students who wish to study over a longer period.

Students can communicate with their tutor in real-time using the online messaging system. Student queries are answered within 1 working day. When support is delivered online ALL queries and responses are recorded in your profile so that you can refer back whenever required. This is particularly useful during revision periods.

Fast-track Your Learning
Some students prepare for the A Level Maths exam over several months or even years by creating study schedules. Others choose to study intensively and prepare within a few weeks. The only constraint is the exam schedule, as A Level exams take place in May and June each year.
Assessment & Examination
CloudLearn's online A Level courses include formative assessments that allow you to assess your understanding as you work towards your qualification. Prior to your official exam, you will be required to complete a mock exam, which will give you valuable practice to prepare for the big day.

As part of your enrollment service package, we will handle all arrangements for your final A Level Maths exam. This includes finding a center and booking the relevant exam(s). Additional exam fees apply.

Exam Structure
The Edexcel A-Level Maths exam is available in May/June each year. It is assessed over 3 exam papers:
- Paper 1 9MA0/1 - 2 hour exam
- Paper 2 9MA0/2 - 2 hour exam
- Paper 3 9MA0/3 - 2 hour exam
We generally ask that you book written exams at least 6 months in advance, however subjects that includes NEA (A-Level Eng Lit & A-Level History), Practicals (A-Level Sciences), or Fieldwork (A-Level Geography) you are recommended to note the following deadlines for booking and give us at least 8 months booking notice.
Booking deadlines are 5-8 months prior to the exam date.
Booking your exam after the booking deadline will incur late fees (available for one month after deadline) and high late fees (available up until exam entry closure).
Late fee for A-Level Summer Exams (May/June) start on 29th January.
High Late fee for A-Level Summer Exams (May/June) start on 26th February.

Which topic in A-Level Maths do students find hardest?

What GCSE grade do I need to start A-Level Maths?

What grade is 72% in A-level maths?
In recent Edexcel A-Level Maths series, 72% has landed solidly in A grade territory, and in some years close to the A* boundary. For example: in June 2023 the A boundary was around 65% (A* around 81%); in June 2024 it was around 68% (A* around 84%); in June 2025 it rose to around 71% (A* around 86%). So 72% would have secured an A in all three of those years, and come very close to an A* in 2025.
